Rug Cleaning Odour Treatments.
Every oriental rug is unique and your rug will be cleaned with the most suitable method for its age, type of dye and fibers used. Your rugs will be thoroughly inspected prior to any cleaning Dyes will be assessed for colour fastness, and we will check the existing condition carefully note signs of wear or areas that need repair and report back to you. The tiny dust and grit particles that accumulate over the years are removed before cleaning. We will not use abrasive cleaning products or automated machinery. All the work carried out on your carpets or rugs will be done by using softened water, natural fiber brushes, and gentle solutions with the most care.
8: Step Specialist Cleaning Process:
Pre-Wash Inspection: Each rug is inspected for any pre-existing conditions. Soil can cover up dye lot variations (known as Abrash), fiber staining, prior dye bleeding, worn areas or white knots that become “uncovered” after the wash. Some damage we can possibly be repaired or reverse while cleaning. Once happy we carry out a number of cleaning checks to make sure it is cleanable
Removing the Dust: This is the first step after inspection. Rugs, can hold up considerable amount of dust settled at the bottom of the pile, on the foundations. We shake and vacuum all the dust off from rug’s foundations to remove it all, making sure when flooded with water, dust will not turn into mud sticking to foundations.
Colour fast test: The dyes of the rug are tested for colour fastness, as you can see here on right before we start any cleaning process. If the dyes are not colour fast, then the rug is bathed first in vinegar to set the dyes during the wash process , or we change the cleaning solution.
Shampoo bath: The rug is then given a full immerse wash with MILD ECO-FRIENDLY shampoo bath to revive rug’s pile as all the dust and dirt dissolve during washing., using soft brushes for mild agitation. The rug is soaked for a certain length of time, depending on how much surface soil needs to be worked out and rinsed from the rug’s fibres. Then The rug is thoroughly rinsed with water.
The Rinsing process: The rug is thoroughly rinsed with cold water, and then the water is gently squeezed from the rug until the rug is in just a damp condition.
Drying Process: Many of our rugs are laid out flat to dry. Hanging textiles up when wet can lead to too much strain on the foundation of the rugs. Air movers are used to help facilitate drying, without the use of high heat so there is no worry of shrinkage.Upon a first wash, it is typical for a rug to shrink slightly (less than an inch) – just as cotton and wool clothing does in even a cold water hand wash. And as with throwing wool or cotton in a high heat dryer, you know this shrinks natural fibres … this is why some rugs are laid out flat to dry.
Final work: The Rug is given a FINAL grooming with a Soft brush, and then carefully wrapped to ensure its cleanliness during transit. We will then deliver the rug to you.
